journal entry #1

journal entry #1

hello everyone! my first journal entry, and a special one at that . . . its my birthday month!

i wanted to wear sweet lolita for my birthday, and my bodyline boots arrived in the mail just in time for me to coord them! buuuuutttttt, i broke them the first day of wearing them , going down stairs tore the heels . . . i haven't worn platforms since 2021 and forgot how shoes like these will move with your entire foot . . . oops! i have superglue , an easy fix so i'm not worried. it is also bodyline so i expected something of this sort to happen. coording them was really fun, i decided to go with petit patisserie because cake motifs feel very on theme

here is my coord &  some of the treats i got to have throughout my birthday week! chocolate tart with fried bananas , sushi , and matcha cheesecake!! - everything is vegan, and the chocolate tart w/ fried bananas are also gluten free! the birthday candles were surprises and the strawberry rose was super cool

i have recently come to the decision i must go on a no-buy . . . because im saving for a trip to japan!! so far it hasn't been hard, i believe because i have good spending habits and know what i want. but here are my most recent deliveries!

alice's clock bag which i bought without straps (one wishlist item down!) and an usakumya pochette which i traded my baby bolero for.

this kumya has a story (as do all my items, but getting this one to arrive was a bit of a mess) . . . the seller accidentally printed and sent out my label twice, and i opened the first package thinking it was my kumya, but i got someone else's sugary carnival jsk instead. the shock i had!!! getting sugary carnival specifically was funny to me because it is one of the prints i keep going back and forth on - its so cute ! is it too simple ? do the colors feel right ? do i want it ? enough to spend $200 or more?  - the kind of item that makes you wish someone would sell it to you for dirt cheap because you can't make up your mind, and the cost is too much for something you aren't sure of. typing this, i remembered i eventually want the sax op because i had a dream i was wearing it on a date. the prophecy will be fulfilled!

anyway! i did eventually get my kumya after i sent back the jsk! the seller was so sweet & i am forever grateful (if ur reading this hi mar :D)! this usakumya has its bows with pink dot lucid ribbon instead of solid pink ribbon, which i find very cute. my mom said i need the white usakumya now . . . but i want to find the dark brown kumakumya more! hopefully i can find them both in japan.

starting to blog more feels nice. i prefer this over 'doomscrolling', even if lolita content is the main content i consume. my phone's screentime recently hit double digits and it made me upset (even though ~2 of those hours are from my phone playing movies to put me to sleep (right now barbie of swan lake knocks me out instantly)). sometimes i think i don't have much to say, but i start typing and the words just keep flowing. i have more experiences and opinions to share than i thought i would.

on my other recent interests . . . animal crossing update! i reset my island a little bit ago before the update was announced. i knew i wouldn't have my nintendo online membership after it launched so i stocked up on saving custom designs and now im really excited to start terraforming. i actually have the same problem with acnh designs as i do with my own wardrobe, which is not having a super-specific style... pastel pinks? browns? ivory/creams? cutesy or mature? who knows. maybe that's as specific as i'll ever get! but, the more i buy, the more streamlined and solid my style is, i think. i know many people say that "buying everything you like" will leave you with a messy wardrobe and nothing that goes well together, and even though i like a LOT of different styles (sweet, classic, fairykei, himekaji, & more...) it's all coming along very nicely. i only started buying a lot of jfashion last year and i really like the way my closet looks. once my no-buy ends when i come back from japan, i want to focus on more basic items - i have no basic staple pieces like solid white otks, tea parties, or a real petticoat!

of course i try to talk about something outside of jfashion and find a way to tie it in regardless.

as i finish typing this, i am eating mini taiyaki. red bean paste has always been one of my favorites. i did a grocery run earlier and seeing all my sweets slowly leave the fridge is so sad

 thanks for reading ♡
